Due to personal circumstances i no longer have time to be on the forum. I did a bit of a dissapearing act for a month or two earlier this year for the same reasons. In the short of it i was battling for shared custody of my son and unborn child. I was working and dealing with depression at the same time. Because of legal issues going on with regards to my old job + new commitments i no longer have time to ride bikes/work on scooters or be on the forum. The zip, The Bmw, The norton and the bonnie will be laid up until i have the time to be able to work on them again. Ill be gone for a few months atleast, maybe a year. I wish the regulars (mark, stevep, scubabiker etc) all the best. Scootz.
Just got back from 1st day in new job 'bout 1/2 hour ago., Read the title......... Must say i'm dissapointed - Thought you'd been nicked an put in the slammer... Be lucky,Dude..
Im back sooner than i thought.... Ex employer tried to take me for damages because i was posting on this forum and they found my posts because of a student. they lost miserably. Im now in a job which i work less hours, which means i now have time for scooters again. Ill be doing a thread on my zip soon. Im just doing some research etc before i start tearing into it. Also planning a road trip next year all over Europe and have a bike ill be working on for that.
If you are thinking about something like that, you might want to try something like the tour we are doing next year first: https://www.ridewithustours.co.uk/tour/guided-motorcycle-tours/italian-dolomites-guided-tour/ Pete and Slavica are the organisers, really nice people, couldn't ask for better company. The Dolomites tour I'm going on is fully booked for next year already so i'm afraid you've missed that one.
Im doing this with a few friends hopefully, Some will be peeling off as/when they need to get home for work commitments but we also have somebody joining us in Denmark and somebody joining us in Poland. We didnt want to go through a tour group sort of thing because of how much it would restrict us. Although it might be something ill look at for 2017 as a solo thing. Planned route (rough) is dover - Calais - Belgium - Netherlands - Bremen - Hamburg - Denmark (copenhagen and Alsgarde) - Ferry up to Norway - Ride the E39 - ride through sweden into finland - Stay in Helsinki for a few days before getting over to Estonia - Straight through Latvia and Lithuania - Poland (i have some business in Warsaw) - over into Germany via poznan, hopefully ride the nurburgring - down to Monaco through switzerland and then back over to Calais and back home.
like those.... they havent been through laerdalstunnelen, but they have been through a few others (bomlofjord tunnel 12km, rennesoytunnelen 14km plus more) laerdalstunnel is 20 somethingkm long...... its mad.... there is another one near odda somewhere that has a roundabout in atunnel and a bridge over the fjord (hardangerbruer maybe?)
