My Tax ran out on the 31st May... I haven't got the new V5C slips back yet though, read it could take a few weeks, but I need that in my name/address to Tax the Bike Online/Post Office. I do have the V5C/2 slip though, the small green one, I read you can use this but need other forms... my Bike doesnt need an MOT yet so I dont have previous receipts, but it says about a V11 reminder form... well im the new owner so I wont have that reminder form. Can I just take the green slip, and my Insurance papers (and ID) to the Post Office? will this be enough to get the Tax Disc?
Yes, you can tax it that way, as long as the green slip is showing your name and address, but i think you will have to fill out form V62 as well (Application for a Tax Disc)
i taxed mine on the v5 bit the previous owner gave me.took the mot paper and insurance to post office,no probs...should be ok to take the v5slip and insurance and old tax disc and they should be able to tax it.they will know it don't need mot from the v5 bit.
V62 is Application for a vehicle registration certificate https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/269833/V62_061213.pdf V10 is Application for a tax disc http://www.nidirect.gov.uk/application-for-a-tax-disc-v10ni.pdf?rev=3 So im guessing it'll be the V10? I have the small V5C/2 slip, Insurance papers and old Tax Disc, and im guessing I cant print this off at home to take with me?
Their phasing out tax discs soon.auto refund to last owner.no transfer to new owner. Still have to pay but bugger all to display.
Saves having it nicked and its all under one "big brother" umbrella.wont be long before were tracked with road side cams ....have a bar code stuck on the front for scanning..so much better in the old days..
take the new keepers slip down to post office, filled with your details, your insurance certificate and your MOT certificate along with the paper and photocard parts of your driving licence. no forms need to be filled, just walk up to cashier and say I would like to tax my scooter please. pretty simple
Sorted now took the V5C/2 slip down, with the old Tax Disc and printed V10 form and Insurance papers, £17 for a year is good!
On this subject, there is a scam website that is getting loads of folk, it says tax has gone up by 40 pound. It comes up on google
