Hello all.. im having trouble finding a workshop manual for a 2013 symjet 4 125cc.. this bike has been nothing but a headache since i brought it for my partner no more than 4months ago.. im trying to diagnose an electrical iasue but not having a workshop manual is making things that much more confusing so if anyone can point me in the right direction of a proper workshop manual for it that would be great.. ive googled for one but seems there is nothing online.. Many thanks
Can't find one but the chances are it's generic with other models in the range. What problems are you having?
Yeah i was looking at other models but its knowing if its 100% the same as it needs to be as im trying to figure out the front end wireing loom.. basicly the start button has stoped working.. ive striped down the harness and someonw in the past has obviously done a bodge job on the wireing so i want a wireing diagram for the start switch loom.. weird as ive rewired the lot but still no joy.. ive also bridged the starter switch connector but still no power.. rather strange this bike lol.. im surprised just how poor quality these bikes are..
Yeah ive checked all 3 and thay all seem good.. it realy does not make sence.. i should have power to the switch and the switch should work.. unless for some reason the switch has just packed up.. this is crazy! I cant beleive in this day and age sym can make such poor quality parts.. takw all the switches on the front panel foe instance.. you can actually conect them both ways round.. which is just stupid!! I realy do need a manual!!
Although not strictly"chinese" (Taiwan) you'll probably find a generic diagram will do as most of these far eastern scooters are much the same. Would the Haynes manual on Chinese scooters help?
Most have the ignition power wire somewhere around the battery with a fuse. It may be a thin red wire. The battery terminals will be positive through the relay down to the starter and the earth will be to the frame. You should have power direct to the starter relay as they usually are live until the relay operates and connects the heavy cables to the starter. If you are not getting 12v at the solenoid from the battery(even with ignition off) there is something wrong. Bad earth? You should also get 12v at the ignition switch via the smaller wire coming from the battery area. A bit like this
Did you get the tail light working from your previous posts? Just wondering if that is stopping your starter working as the circuit is all linked?
