    Hi all,
    Looking for some advice please...

My step-son has crashed his 2017 Sym Simply 50 scooter and bent the front forks and steering stem part of the frame.

It has been pronounced an insurance write-off due to the damage.

I have the possibility of getting hold of a used Simply 125 scooter and was wondering if they share the same frame?

If they do, would I be able to simply (pun intended!) swap the engine and associated parts, onto the 125cc frame and get the scooter re-registered with VOSA to get it back on the road?

Thanks in advance for your help!
    Andy

What year is the used one?
Does it have the V5 with it?

Moving a 125 to 50 has got to be a shit ton of paperwork?
And changing a frame is a fair few hours work...

It's the registration number that's the problem, if you did/could re-frame it, it would use the 2008 number, any vehicle uses the chassis/frame number as the ID. Any other way would probably be called "ringing it" ! If the lad is 16 then there's another problem on a 125 frame ?
    Difficult !
