    Hello,
I have to do my best to be understood because I am from Sweden and my English is not the best.

I have a problem with a Sym Jet sport X 2008, it has been standing still for a few years in the garage. and now I don't get it to work properly.

I have cleaned the carburetor very carefully several times with a ultra sonic cleaner.

It does not want to go clean and suffocates itself at full throttle. I've tried different ignition coils, main jets, and new spark plugs.
and unless the spark plug gap is exactly right, it doesn't start at all. I have noticed that the spark is very weak ??

    do you have any ideas?

    all help is appreciated.

Hello Jimmie, did you give the air filter a good clean at the same time?

    Hi,

No not cleaned, but i looks ok and it’s make no difference if I go without the filter cover.

There’s also new reeds and of course new gas.

I also noticed that it’s coming air from one of the missing screws in the air filter cover?

Do you know if it's running a rich or lean mixture?

In the beginning the spark plug was black, then in take main jet 60, was 68. No difference.

It’s running ok on idle, but when you twist the throttle it starts spluttering.

Are you sure water isn't ingressing into the fuel tank?

    Yes,
I’ve tried with a separate gas tank as well.

What do you think about the poor spark ?

That's what I'm struggling to figure out at the moment

It’s only 2000km on the odo..
Could it be something with the Cdi? Or there shouldn’t be any spark at all then?

That's such a low mileage, there should be a spark. Have you have Cdi checked since it was last serviced?

No I’m not familiar with the spark since it was new either.

I’m in to buy a new carburetor, but should maybe go for a new cdi instead?

Ideally go for both, but cdi's are so cheap I'd be tempted to go for that first, and if that doesn't work then maybe a new carb is in order.

Could be the exhaust full up of old oil.
    It happens
    Helsing frå Noreg.
Vanlig er det ikkje gnist med defekt cdi.
    Coil?

That’s was one my ideas too, because it’s drops some oil from the exhaust in the cylinder.

But I have it running for a while on idle like 20-30 minuets. Then it should burn away right?

I’ve tried with serval different coils, one with “31000v” but no difference.
