    Right...
I recently fitted an ill fitting variator and it's caused the end of the crank to get chewed up.
I'd like to swap the crank for the one in my spare engine (which has done considerably less miles). My question is, how do I split the cases? What parts need oiling before putting in, what do i use to reseal the cases, and how do i fit the crank.

    Thanks !

if you have to ask i wouldent advise doing this.. its more than just unbolting it then bolting it back up. use the good engine...

i can't use the good engine, which is why i swapped them - it has a snapped crankcase.

i wouldn't advise this either. i tryed fitting my own crank but soon changed my mind when i tryed to split the casing but it just ended up snapping the brackets you are spose to hit. Put hand in your pocket mate and go to a garage, only cost me £70 for 70 kit, crank and carbon reeds fitted. Trust me its worth reasurance that its done right.

You're local to me, I'll collect, do it for you same day if you have the parts as I'd want new mains and seals and then deliver back. All you'd need to do was bolt it back in and pay me. MSN/PM if you're interested.

contact the place where you bought the variator from mate

personally I think it was overpriced and now its caused a healthy crank to fuck up. complain to them and report them to ebay

meanwhile buy a nice bgm crank and shell out a few quid on labour to fit its the quickest way your going to solve your problem

yeh to be totally honest its not worthing fucking with, all that time it will take you plus if you never done it before it will take even longer, also its quite pricey of you were to fuck it up just lash the cash and have a garage or tweak do it for you.

    thats my 2 pence

    darren.

Would just like to say thanks to Tweak for his great service. Very fast work, and excellent to boot.

    Would recommend him to anyone.
