right just picked up a 2003 suzuki katana in ltd edition paint and 2000 k on the clock having looked around i think the engine it has is a morini engine, does any one know anything about these are they good to tune ? because at first i bought it to sell it but after riding it i like the way it handled but feels restricted, only goes 35, does any one know about any restrictions it may have already checked exhaust and vario. Any help will be much appreciated
checked the carb inlet? there are plenty of tunning bits available for these. polini/mallosi kits , varios, carbs, clutches, cranks, basically anything you get for a piggy motor you can get for these. the thing is that you would not see the same results that ypu would on a piaggio motor. still very tunable motors and well easy to work on
The gearing is set to low as standard on them so will deffo need a gear up. Get a sport 70 kit, 19mm carb, reeds, pipe, un-restricted CDI, box of jets, some rollers and you be sorted
yeah going to check the carb for restriction, also is the cdi restricted or is it a limiter, basically to fully unrestricted it ? thanks for the help guys
Katana's are like said, pretty good but not up to Piggy motors. Still you'll have the last laugh in the corners as them things are sorted handling wise
I've got an SR with the Morini engine, fitted a Polini 70 Kit, Leo Vince ZX Pipe and Dellorto 17.5mm Carb just need to run it in - loads of bits available for them check PM, SA & SC.
