Where do I start. Well I bought a 2004 Suzuki AY50 Kantana a few months ago (30-10-09) but its been sitting since today (19-01-2010). I noticed a few weeks ago a vibration coming from the engine when revving on the stand, didn't take much notice of it. Today (19-01-2010) I decided to get it out and give it a short blast up the road as I passed my CBT on Sunday. Fitted a new NGK Spark plug - BPR6HS, 5mins up the road it cut out, managed to start it up again and noticed the was a binding/vibration noise coming from the left hand side of the engine. What could this be? Please help. It is stock with a Technigas Next R full exhaust. Jack
binding/vibrations from the engine could be any number of things. loose variator nut, knackered crank bearings, knackered litle end bearing, the list goes on. if you say it cut out after a short time this could be down to a seziure, and it starting again after a few minutes could be a sign of it freeing off again. did you happen to notice the engine temp when this happened? cheers from dan
Thanks for your quick reply Dan. It keeps on starting and working but it;s ONLY after it gets HOT its starts to bind and vibrate really badly now, I don't have this problem when engine is cold. The engine temp light doesn't come on atall. I'm thinking it may be to do with the clutch, perhaps a new one should solve this problem. It can barely accelerate now on the flat, I am almost certain its to do with the clutch slipping/drive belt slipping. Any more ideas anyone? Would like to get this fixed ASAP.
