hi i just got a non running suzuki ay50 katana.it has a spark at plug and fuel is getting to carb ok.but before i go any farther the choke is broken and no wire going to it.my question is.should the engine not at least fire and attempt to go even with a broken choke?also can i fit a choke [that fits in the hole] off any scooter 2 or 4 stroke as i have excess to a few scrap ones
The scooter should still start from cold, as the choke will be on all the time, if the wires arent connected up...
the top of the choke has a hole in it.looks like it was hit with a hammer.in other words the pin and spring can come out off the top so i guess its lke theres no choke connected.can a scooter start with a choke taken off?
probably would still start, you could operate the plunger by hand i guess if the tops broken. pull the plunger up to switch the choke on, and push the plunger all the way down to switch it off...
