Hi, as you might have seen I'm having some bother my scoot I'm having trouble setting the carb up idle but now I'm using lots of fuel which i wasnt a few days ago could this be because I've fiddled with mixture? Also I hit a pot hole to and the bike then bogged down loads but picked back up and was fine! it bogged right down before and cut out then seemed to be ok but I'm puzzled with the high fuel consumption as I didn;t have this before!
it was an intermittent bog down when above 15mph done it twice yesterday it does stay on whilst idling yes1
the piston ring could be broken, check it if it looks like this then your piston ring is broken, there should be no dirt below the top piston ring
Will look soon thanks mate it just died on me blew 2 fuses and there was watt on battery started and back fired is ok fit now haha
Think battery covered in water has been a cause of this problem? because as soon as I dried it off it was fine I just need a new fuse!
How much could air fuel mixture affect mpg? because when I first had the carb and filter on it was alright but now fiddling with the mixture to get it started and now I'm getting rreally bad mpg
it wont be piston to just do it every now and again, it just needs set up, you got plenty compression. but if you really want to purchase some rings for 6 quid off ebay lol.
Right, My scooter will only usually start if the air to fuel mixture screw is practically all of the way out and the idle screw is all the way in, does that say anything about the jetting Up jet down jet? I have no Idea!
sounds like needs upjet. think about it, your turning your fuel to air mixture up, possibly coz your jet is too small? meaning you need more fuel.. so upjet may allow you to have less mixture but still plenty air!
hm I thought out was less? fuel haha! when I turn it in it idles higher idk ha am special! might whack a bigger jet in in morning! Need to go get some fuses at somepoint before rugby too
