Even since i have had a 70cc bore fitted to my slider the battery strugles to start so i think it might be cause of the higher compression makes me think i need a stronger battery cratch: can anyone recomend a good one to use ??
I doubt its due to the compression, its not going to be much higher than a fresh stock cylinder, its the capacity and timing thats changed most. Before anyone can tell you a decent battery to upgrade too, we will need to know whats it got in there already, look for a number and we can work out the size, then find others of similar size but higher cranking amps. It will probably be something like a YB4LBS or CB4LB etc etc.
i had this problem with my slider once it was charged up it was ok so its best to charge it up or try to fit a bigger battery as there preaty small as stock. unfortuneafly my slider holed its piston 3 miles from home now its waiting for me to weld mounds in for a 125 engine. so if you need any parts for your slider engine i might have them. also would you be interested in a polished side case and a jack up ?
this is the battery i have fitted im not sure if its the standard one or not cratch: so i need a better one than this any ideas ppl?
ive started evo engines on these battery's.... putting holes in pistons is a sure sighn of too much compression/lean mixture.. this prittymuch explains your compression was too high andy.. get a new battery, if it dont work the starter is shitty... if it still wont go you have not fitted the cylinder kit correctly
