Anyone did any strengthening for their frame? a typhoon frame is weak for example, especially when doing hard braking and high speed over bumpy surface. normally i see 1-2 bars to be placed between the fork stem and at the bottom of the seat frame. I have not seen any SR having this bars as i guess its hard to find a mounting place as the seat hinge is very obstructive. Anyone? :cray:
not sure mate , obv iud prob have to cut holes in your pannles to put poles in , mabey weld triangles on all the corners? just a idea
only time ive ever seen a bent typh frame is after a crash, even then a bar aint gonna do shit. the triangular support's (bars you usually see on sprint bikes and so on) are JUST to take the natural flex out of the frame, means a harder bumpier ride but the frame wont bend as you accelerate hard (yes they bend) this is usually combined with solid suspention as usually your rear shock takes all the torque load. no suspention is faster, its no secret. but strenghtening a stock frame with suspention for road use is a waste of time. all it will do is move the weak spot and you will probably start cracking engine mounts (yes the part on the engine that holds the bush) or even worse, snapping engines in half. frames have flex for a reason
runner dun flex as much as a typhoon or SR. its limiting my cornering speeds. I know the thin rod above the tank on runner is doing its stuff.
