coming home from work this afternoon got stopped by the police how warned me for my light not been on at the back, I am not sure if mine comes on permanent is a Honda lead scv100 can any confirm it does, the back light works when I brake so as far as i am aware it won't be the bulb and don't ever remember it been on all the time

Have a SCV/self - it's a combined running/brake light bulb(5/21w),so yes.it should have a running light as well as a brake light.though running light will be considerably dimmer.

If your headlight comes on when the bike is running, then the rear should also be on.
Look at the bottom of the bulb, it should have 2 soldered blobs. One is stop light, the other is tail light. They can only be fitted one way round.

bare in mind the bike is 19 years old and I got it with less then a 1000 on the clock and had never been used much since it was first registered in 2007 by the original owner as I am now the 2nd over and just done over 3100 on it, so it prob has never been changed lol that's why I changed the original tyres lol

Wouldn't bother with the led ones, they last as long as the ordinary ones but are twice the price. And in my opinion, they are not as bright as the ordinary bulbs. They're ok if you have clear lenses like on the indicators and you want them to look the part, but as a brake light.........na, not worth it.

took the bulb out and there standard 22/5 12v as it said on the bulb made by Philips not 5/22 as someone mentioned lol

anyway went to Halfords and got some long life Halfords ones and all working now must of failed just after the mot and I hadn't noticed but you live and learn lol

thanks for everyone's help and suggestions

    stay safe

Interesting! I have a similar problem my break lights and headlights work but the dim lights are not working? So at nite time I only have the headlights on and the break lights every time I break?

I have a question does the winker lights suppose to have dim lights too or is it only the break lights?

    Please help me

change the bulb, the brake light should act as the brake and the tail gate light.

mine was just the bulb but could be something else.

    what's a winker light lol
