I'll try to keep this as short as i can. Now i've recently got my car on the road and stuff, and recently quit my job due to them fucking me around ( i now have a job though ) so money has been really tight so to help pay for my car insurance i had to sell the SR, the one i swapped Gareth for. My insurance ran out this week so i was after a quick sale. Anyway, some of you may have seen the bike, it was on ebay, i put it on for what i think was quite a high price, but i thought i'd try seeing if anyone would take it anyway and maybe i'd get some offers on it. A few days after the bike was listed, i got an email from an ebay member saying he'd give me 550 for it and that he could collect it today, i thought ok sounds good, i then asked him for cash on collection, he said he only had the money in his paypal, being stupid i agreed to go ahead with it, as i'm quite a trusting person and reeeeeallly needed the money i wasn't to concerned. So i gave him some details and i said it would be ok to pick up around 2-3pm ( because i wanted to watch F1 which finished after ) Anyway to help people find there way i usually put the bike on the drive way, i just put the steering lock on and left it there. Then sometime later ( before F1 finished! ) the bike was gone. Tried to contact the guy, the number he gave me didn't work. To make everything abit safer i was intending to get a receipt off the guy when he got here, and take his car registration down etc just 'incase' Anyway, a few hours later, after i asked everyone on my street if they had seen anything ( they didn't, bastards. ) i checked my paypal, to see he had taken back the 550 quid, by telling paypal the transaction was 'unauthorized' so paypal being WANKERS, gave him his money back no questions asked, and leaving me, with FUCKALL, but there's still a dispute going on, i can't see myself winning it though... As of yet i've not heard anything from the guy, i tried setting up a fake ebay account to try and get some info and pretend to 'buy' one of his phones he's selling, all i have is his name from paypal, the number he gave me is fake and i'm emailing people who have done business with him in the past to see if they have any contact details, so far, nothing. If ANYONE knows of any way to help me out, it would be greatly appreciated and if it's useful i'll give a reward to that person. the bike is probably in pieces by now, but i'll show you the pics i took, remember it has no logbook, and i can't see them registering it either! The last 2 bikes i've owned, have given me hell, i must get this money back some how, i'm in debt ( with family ) i can't use my car, and over drawn at the bank, happy days eh :msn1: if you think you can help, PM me for the ebay members details, any help is greatly appreciated, i'll go to the police, don't see what they can do, but if you can't help me, please keep an eye out for anything on the bike that is being sold as parts, you never know i suppose... i'll edit this post if i think i've missed anything out. cheers, Ben
:wtf: Bloody hell Ben that sucks!....Have you contacted the police about it at all? I remember something like this happening to Jason aka Ridge Racer off the old SWF forum, don't think they got the scooter though, I can't remember the details of it sadly Why didnt it have a log book?
shit ben, post up his details, name n shame him. edit, any spares left over? AKA those front pannels?
surely ebay have got his adress from when he signed up, contact the police who can get the adress from ebay? sorry yo hear it, some rite c**ts on ebay
yep, also you have his paypal adress, paypal will have his bank details who will be able to track him, get wheels turning, push the police.
I know im a newbee but... To register with ebay you can either: Do it buy Giving Ebay your phone number and adress, So ebay ring your house phone to give you a confirmation code. Or By credit card, So if he had paypal it has to be wired to a bank account....Which is registered to their House Adress So if you get the police involved they can track down his address...But its the case of if they can be arsed, But then they could turn around saying its your fualt becuase you let him take it before you had actually recieved the money?. Anyway Sorry to hear about that mate... Matt
Surely there is no proof that it wasn't stolen by some local kid? They could regard the paypal withdrawal as coincidence? Good luck anyway ben. Really hope it works out for you.
unlucky this same thing nearly happend to my mate with his rm250 i cort them in the act when i was going home they were taking cover of i chased them they got in this trannny van i was wacking window and shit they drove of but anyways tell police dowt they will do owt
hold shit ben thats skanky!! but yeh could have been some local people... at least u got his ebay account thats sumat...but stupid if it was him how he went thru all that trouble... just for a scrapy sr that he cant get road legal.... and will sell for spares for like £300... risk gettin court for £300 silly.... and how would he know the bike would be outside...good luck tho ben think im goin to sell my bike and stick to my car...
come on bruv, get a crime referance number.. then contact paypal and get transaction details aswell as any email's sent ether way. you HAVE to have a creditcard/debitcard to have an active paypal account and obviously will have his details. problem is the fuckers smart and can just say "wasent me who took the bike" and theres no evidence to state otherwise. the bike will no doubt be at a diff address to his registerd so you cant really prove he took it or not. it sounds like the perfect scam but you left yourself open to it. circumstantial evidence points to him but obviously if the bike isnt found then he is prittymuch free even if the police agree it probably was him (they wont go out there way to prove it) you have to keep the dispute going with paypal and stay vigilant. fact is he cancelled the transaction after agreeing to it even tho as far as he knew the bike was still for sale. why would he cancell the transaction otherwise? ebay is an auction and with such carries laws of sale. if he bought it and gave transaction he has agreed to a NON obsolvable contract so the money is still yours in theory. all you have to do is prove to paypal that he bought it and agreed to pick up via trhe methods arranged. then give all this info to the police. then give there paperwork back to paypal and theres a 50/50 chance you will get the dosh back. if the ebay and paypal account are fresh then you have even more evidence. problem is its ALL circumstantial so unless they catch him with the bike he wont get jack shit for it. main bit is get your money from paypal. then find the fucker
Ok thanks i'll deffinatly get on the police tomorrow. I'm pretty damn sure it was this guy, no one in my area would dare take it to be honest . . anyway, this guy obviously doesn't want to be found.. publically i can't get contact details off paypal or ebay, like i said all i have is his name, and im sure it has to be real to make the credit card stuff work for him. he is selling some phones on ebay, but requires 'immediate payment' which means i can't get his address even if i pretended to buy one... and he has 5 of these phones, which are brand new and boxed, sounds dodgy already if you ask me... all i can do is gather up any bits of evidence i have which are.. pictures of the bike at my address ( with the time and date on) print off messages sent, and the paypal transaction stuff. then get onto the police. I imagine all he wanted the bike for was the engine, so fuck knows whats going to happen to the parts but i'll be checking all auction sites every day. I'm running out of idea's to try, all i fucking need is a telephone number or address, and if the police don't do shit i'm screwed, it would be nice to do 550 pounds worth of damage to the person, but he also knows where i live and i have no idea what these people are like, also this means i can't send him empty threats, because he's got somewhat of an upper hand. As it is classed as theft, the police better fucking do something, i'm not giving up on this, i've been shafted for being a trusting person, at the same time i forgot this is the 21st century, :rtfm: edit: just tried to pretend to buy one of his phones on a fake ebay acc again, and this came up. does this mean paypal have frozen his account or something? or just something he's done?
probably closed the account's... that way any disputes are dumped if his balance is a zero... he can be persued for it by the police if this is the case but to be honest the police dont care about theft anymore.. "thats what insurance is for" isnt an attitude i pay tax for
Try this maybe: http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQtZvbQQsofindtypeZ9 it might give you his details. kcnw9
That's one way of doing it mate, but all it does is sends an email to him asking if he will allow you to see his details, which he isnt't likely to do if he doesn't want to be caught. Worth a try though, but I wouldn't count on this way...
Well well... Only just Got this..... i've been sending reminders at least once a week on the off chance. What are my chances now? LOL :rtfm: aparently the guy was selling phones, nintendo wii's etc and just taking the money as the items didn't exist.
