ok last week i got new 5.5 g rollers and fitted them (standard ones) i also got a set of new variator cams or slides. yesterday i fitted stiffer clutch springs. which now the clutch kicks in at higher revs but has a higher amount of power. But still inbetween 20 and 30 is slow and up hills i struggle to get to 30. my top end is expected (50 :( ) im just really annoyed why it hates changing gear between 20 and 30. its not the rollers !!! or the clutch. anyone know what it could be?

it does sound like too heavy rollers....

Have you tried lighter than 5.5g rollers to see if it is them??

Does the variator back plate slide along the splined crank shaft without sticking,
if it sticks then that will cause your problem!! (sometimes surface rust builds up on the shaft)

or old burnt grease on the shaft causes sticking....

other than going over your transmission with a fine tooth comb,

are you sure this isnt a mixture problem, air filter element not dirty,????

medium to fine wet n dry paper and wd40 should do it...

or give it a good rub with a brillo pad, dry off and lubricate with light oil... ;)

ok took the variator off didnt look to bad bit of rust tho. wet and dried it and plenty of wd 40. i then fully cleaned the variator with some wd40. but i used it on the drive shaft bit or drive bar w/e lol and i test rode it and now it sounds like the belts slipping a bit. but 20-30 wasnt that bad. ill see how it goes tomo.
