I've noticed that I can get a 17mm Stickyparts carb to fit my TKR2 for 30 sobs from Adr€nalin P€dstop. It's electric choke and doesn't have a vacuum fitting, so the Trekker 100 or the Nakaru manifolds I have will fit. For the price, it seems to be a fair alternative to a second-hand Trekker/Speedshite 100 carb of unknown performance. It's certainly cheaper than second-hand Dell'Orto 17mm carbs. I have a Dell'Orto 17 PHVB, but the slow running screw and idle mixture screws would be on the inside of the bike if I fitted it to my bike. I need a PHVA version really, if anyone has one for a swap. Should I take a gamble on the Stickyparts carb or get a second-hand original carb for about the same money? I know that the Stickyparts carb will be made by the Hu Flung Dung company in China or Taiwan, but I don't really care as long as it will dial in on the jetting and work. Comments, anyone?
I've had some problems with adren's own parts, stickyparts as they call them, mainly the cylinder kits, i've found they cause a ticking sound sometimes. Also had other parts, lenses etc, that just don't fit quite as well as they should. Have you looked at the Naraku carbs that scooter-works.co.uk sell? I've fitted the 17.5mm to the Katana and the 21mm to the zip. Easy to jet, uses 5mm dellorto main jets, need to use a manual choke though, i'm going to fit the handlebar choke lever this week on the zip, the katana is easy to get to. The 17.5/19/21mm are all the same price as well.
BUY Dellorto. or expect problems. there is so many dell copes for a reason because there is the best. i have used motorforce, stickypart, oko and so on some work well some don't its like the lottery. Dells have to be right 99% of the time in my experience the cheap 17.5's are 30/40 and real dell is £47
