Just picked up some cheap Renthal bars and i'm now after a stem. Is it worth spending more and getting a doppler or stage6 stem or do you recon a bmx stem would do if i can find one the right size?
Bmx stem would be ok if you found one to fit, billy on here used a mountain bike stem and it looked a bit different but worked ok. Just make sure its a good stem obv.
i used a moutain bike one from halfords, but the renthal bars are really thin compared to bike bars, make sure you get the right size bolt the clamp to the tube too for extra securtiy
yeh i used a trials biek stem i think, rake wa too much on it though, if the rake isnt as much as mine will be perfect and cheapest option Pic whore :w00t: : :welcome:
I reaallllllyyyyyy Like that SR  Just trying to understand it in my head, does the stem connect to the forks, then the handlebars to the stem?
get a bgm or simliar, safter then mountain bike stems, has the part that goes inside the actual stem and expands when tightened, so not only is it bolt to the stem but its bolted inside.
Ive gone for a doppler one as it cost around the same as a good quality BMX stem. Dunno if it tightens like the bgm but im not much of a stunter so it should be fine
what ever ou do dont modify anything to fit, i ground down my bars to fit my stem before i done my second conversion and after a month they felt weird so went home, pushe my bike in and bars snapped clean in half :msn1:
