depends what sort of exhaust it is, what pipe did you have and what pipe did you swap it for? i suspect its possibly the back pressure difference of the new pipe, either that or jetting or some other fueling related issue but as youve only changed the exhaust id start there first

could possibly be caused by starting without exhaust on, did he rev the granny out of it? if so there could be your problem. is the plug wet when you take it out after trying to start it? if its wet then fuel is getting through and theres no reason why it shouldnt start or at least fire a few times, unless your down on compression (piston rings gone)

if the plug is dry then no fuel is getting through so try squirting some fuel down the sparkplug hole, if it fires when you try and start it then theres your problem

did you change the jet when you fitted the new exhaust? and the rollers.clutch springs.

try cleaning the plug make sure it isnt fouled up.check and make sure you havent caught anyhting when you were fitting the pipe and broke it.could have pulled a fuel line or somthing off.(you never know)

or as someone allready said could be back pressure difference.

    hope this helps.
