my starter motor on my rox will not work im just trying to get it to work then ill check that it runs as dont have any petty or oil atm . i have got a new starter that deffinately works iv overrided the starter button and break light switch so its neither of them its earthed. what do i need next starter motor relay ?.im assuming this is the one near the battery bikes driving be mad .anyone no what to try next .btw all wires from ignition to battery n motor are all fine ty edit :battery has bit of power not loads but enough to test the starter so its not that
It could be one of 3 things (well it could be one of 300 but these are most likely) Dead battery Dead starter relay/solenoid whatever you want to call it Bad earth
earths sweet batterys not got much power barely enough to turn it over but enough as i tested the starter motor before i put it on n it was fizzin round even on the weak battery ich i will charge . sooooo nrg andys sorting me out with the starter motor relay ( TY M8 OWE U 1)is this the small black clip on box near the fuse and battery TY FOR REPLY M8
sounds like the batery hasn't got the power to spin the motor over and keep the relay in the right place. does it click when you press the button and the dash lights go out?
nah man iv earthed it out n all works on the battery only just but im jus trying to get starter to work i no bat needs chargin. its like theres absolutley nothing when you press the button it turns over slow wen i earth it so bat does need sortin but its good enough just to get it to the stage i no starter works .not got a triccle charger so gtta wait till i go uncles but surely if it turns over when i earth it it would work on the button if it was battery . btw wen i say earth it mean wire starter str8 to bat earth it it turns over just not on button
check if your battery is charging, at about 5000 rev u should get between 13.8 and 14.5 and if its any lower or rarely higher its ur regulator rectifier!!! btw its sounds like ur battery is dead!! Put a booster on ur battery and see if the starter motor turns/works!!
the bikes running now jus not on starter .the battery is brand new in the sence it was bought put on then never used for about 2 months. it needs charging I NO THIS but i will still be able to see if all the workings are ok even if i just get it turn turn over slow . i dont have a charger at my disposal but i no the battery is powerful enough to turn it over as i tested the starter motor with it before i put it on. JUST SO I NO IT WORKS .then wen i mot it my m8s gtta tap some screws holes for me so hell charge it so hopefully itll be the starter motor relay . ty for all help
