I was wondering, will the standard starter motor that is supposed to be on my bike turn the engine over when it has a malossi iron kit on? i ask becausethe compression is quite high and i never bothered replacing the knackered one that came in the box of bits with the bike. another point is do i have to put one on to pass the mot? it starts first kick every time.

    cheers from dan

My zip 70 (malossi cast iron), has NO kickstart I rely on the electric start only, it starts it straight up just like a 50.

You dont need an electric start to pass mot, its a saftey check.. Some old bikes have no elec start.

But keep quiet about the malossi 70kit otherwise they might not MOT your bike, since bore ups are illegal.

they wont turn it down for being 70cc it could be a 400cc zip it makes no difrence mot is not wether its legal for the owner to ride its wether the bike is roadworthy or not and you dont need starter motor 4 mot no and stock starter motor is fine geez

The police have poisened the minds of my local garage, they gave instructions to NOT mot any bikes with 70kits, 172 kits or any other illegal parts.

Lucky enough Im quite pally with my local, especially the mot'ist, he knows I have a 70kit and said he'll pass it for me :yahoo:
