has anyone ever rode with this kit? does it have strong power? is it reliable? how often will i need to change piston/rings running malossi 70 sport atm, cheers
i have a stage 6 racing modular kit on my runner, it gives very good power, a hell of a lot more than a malossi sport kit, reliability seems pretty good so far, i cant tell you how long the ring lasts as im still on the original ring The only thing i will say is, you will deffo need a sports full circle crank, fresh main bearings and the cases opened out to suit the transfer feeds, ohh and a decent mid race pipe, like a C16 for example....fitting a sports pipe on a stage 6 racing will be a complete waste of time. hope that helps.
i lost considerable power after about 2 months getting harder to start but covered alot of miles in that time and it was never ridden gently
should have a ring every thousand or so miles, but this is dependant on the opperating rpm of the pipe. more rpm = dead ring quicker. look at the piston every 3000 miles at most and change when required.. kit should last untill you wear through the nicosil befor it splits up if you keep ontop of the piston.. micasil can last 60,000 miles in a well looked after engine. i would also add to the above, a DECENT ajustable clutch as revvy kits are a fucker to get right wihtout one... fueling issues and premature failure of kits/pistons and real nasty things happen when you dont set the clutch up correctly in a revvy cylinder. hard enough springs for these sort of kits and a c16 or c21 are too much for the pissy stock clutch, they bend, they give up, they put holes in tranny covers LOL
