    Hello :)

Bought an SR50 back in January, since then had a few things done.

Typical British roads, I went though an unavoidable pothole on my bike which resulted in a horrible noise and no compression, turns out my rings had disintigrated in the cylinder, so I replaced it with a Stage6 Street Race 70cc kit, had that installed, still running a Leo Vince TT and has been perfect for 400 miles or so now :) Because the TT has seen better days I decided (yesterday) to buy a Stage6 Pro Replica exhaust (chrome with carbon end can, looks the tits) Put it on and fired the bike up no problem.

Firstly I hold the brake on and clear the engine of oil (done this on every bike ive owned) since having the kit put on the mechanic turned the oil pump up (I need to turn it down as ive been through a plug since) cleared the oil okay is (usually takes 2 3 mins of riding before the bike doesnt miss fire a little bit). Set off and the bike was missing horrible and would barely reach 15 MPH, took it out on the road to see if it would clear but still at Full throttle it wouldn't go past 30.

The bikes still got the restrictor cone in the air box (wont run without it) so I took that out and the mis firing got worse (visible flames comming out of the exhaust) so I put it back in. Last time I had this problem I stuck a new plug in the bike and it ran perfect, so its time for a new plug.

Put the TT back on and it ran perfect to about 40 MPH where it started missing badly again.

What else could I do to get this Pro replica to run properly? Is there anything else I should be doing?

    Thank you :)

    Cardie,

Maybe upjet? Get a new plug first though.

Are you familiar with plug chops?

Is that getting up to speed, turning the ignition off, pulling over to check it? (What ive been told!)

The plug ive been checking regularly with the new kit and its a perfect tan colour, if i leave it ticking over from cold and check it after 10 mins its usually a bit sooty if that helps?

Plugs a perfect colour with the restrictor in and the TT on, which makes me think its a bigger jet. I dont think its a 53 it would of melted the piston by now lol :) Il take it to the garage tomorrow ask to check the jet size and get it running with the new plug, and get him to adjust the oil pump!

Right, put a new plug in (BR7HS) not noticing that it was about an inch shorter thread, still ran like shit anyway, put the B8ES in and its running a lot better with the TT on (even though the TT is blowing a bit now) still mis fires in the high revs so il get a new proper size plug in tomorrow. Havnt tried it with the Pro Rep on yet.
