Hi everyone, recently bought an Sr50 r a couple of days ago, its a 2009 model. The bike is mint for its age alot of brand new parts someone has put a lot of time and effort into it put it that way. any it was riding fine only thing was when I was going say 35-40mph and let off the throttle to about 25-30mph. when I go back on the throttle it was sort of bogging/coughing until around 35mph again and then it was fine. thought nothing of it. Now it has started bogging at very low throttle till about 10mph then its fine until you get above 40mph then it is bogging/coughing again and not reaching top end. Does anyone have any ideas or tips of what to try?
see if it carb needs cleaning out mate and maybe air and fuel mix it l be something to do with that carb tho just check everything hope this helps!!
Yes it is definitely the mixture, I suspect either my jets need cleaning out so im going to blast them with compressed air and if its not that I suspect the main jet is too big. going to take a proper look this weekend! Thanks for the reply pal
well then clean out your airbox and your carb. that should help. if not re-jet your carb and adjust the mixture it might be running a little lean.
Airbox its clean as and carb has just been blasted with compressed air. its like new. Its running to rich, think I need to downjet
look at your sparkplug, if the sp is dark its running rich, if it shows a light tone your scoot is running lean. If its brown it runs perfect.
Yep already done mate its dark which is why I know its running lean, plus it has a strong smell of fuel. What Sr50 you got? what year...
