SR50 & 125 Petrol Tanks

    How much do your 125s & 50's take to fill the tank?
    Im not sure if Im using the right tank on my LC-SR.

    Both have the same capacity tanks 6 litre + 2 reserve ;)

    100% sure on that one?
    Ive got an SR50 tank here which Im thinking to use but the bigger engine is guzzling fuel so need the biggest tank available!

    they are the same, the 125 only does around 1/2 the mpg of the 50. therefore 1/2 the range

    i'm working on a stainless tank to fit in the helmet tub.

    the tank is absolute pants, takes £4.00 to fill mine up :confused:arc:
    thinking of linking up the spare tank i have so its doubled ;)

    £4, where are you gettin your fuel, it's never over £5.50 to fill mine (thats from totally empty)

    petrol near me the cheapest is 86.9p.
    i filled up with £4.10 today with the petrol light on for 15km i filled up. so the tank was empty.

    nah, u had atleast another litre in there. but yeah the tanks are small, i got it down to an art, usually run out on the pumps.

    110% sure :pimp: and what wobbly said is very true the bigger cc the more you will need to fill up an SR :p

    I get approx 49miles to a tank of petrol on my guzzler (never ran out fully of fuel but got it as low as it will go)...so yep I do know what Im talking about :bird:

    Hmmm sounds interesting..where abouts would you put it though...bugger all room under the rear panels really :wtf: ?

    Edit: just read through the post again..missed what you wrote wobbly :emb: ...hmmm question is could I do without the underseat helmet storage..I use it quite alot :( hehe...some women have handbags I have the helmet compartment of my scoot :pimp: :w00t:

    in the tub, means that the usual crap that collects here has to be turfed out.


    mine has a spare barrel and piston, few basic tools, couple of sweet wrappers and some other crap in it at the moment, fuel tank is sooomuch more productive.it can also be removed easily. just overcoming that stupid lump in the bottomof the compartment now.

    Will you have to insulate the bottom of the tank to protect it from engine heat? Some bikes' tubs get a bit warm!

    Ok thanks for replies.
    Explains why I need to fill up every few days.
    Was also thinking about linking up some form of spare tank, but no time to strip it all down again.

    Anyone know where to get hold of a smaller sized jerry can? Would be handy.

    my SR costs around £8-9 to fill lol and thats at 85-90p a litre
