right in next few week think i will be ordering a jolly moto for the sr but have only a 24mm carb on at the moment. will it be worth getting a 25 ? or even a 28 from an mx125/rs125 ? and if so will the 28mm squeeze into the manifold am using now ? set-up in sig.
stick with what you have for now.. an rs fits in a malossi 25 manifold (even a stock) with a bt of warm water an persuasion
just thought it might be a good idea when i get pipe. they dont go for that much. thought it might give abit more power for only a few quid or is their not really much difference ?
the piggy engine in std form (no case work) flows through a 25mm hole.. its only on high folume draw (top end) the carb will feed any more fuel. slightly more top but not worth it if you have a 24 on an unported setup. just uses more fuel and has a little less responce. go for it if you like, i hjate 24's but remember it wont be a massive diff (if it is the 24 wasent setup right)
ok will just keep the 24 for now. need a new float bowl though :rtfm: so will just get one of them. cheers imp:

right i thought bollocks to it. got an del 28. any idea on main jet size and will i need to drop roller weight from going from 24-28. thanks unk:
the 28 staret around 115 an work dowqn just to be safe.. 110 is about right but try a few diff ones.. make sure you can full throttle the carb once fitted.. alot of 28's require a q/a throttle

dont know why some do some dont.. probably the casting type as its the same moddle number on them but for some reason some are the 30mm cast bored smaller to 28 and some are straight cast.. rs carbs are usually straifght cast 28. the flip of this is that the 28 with the 30 cast body can be ported venturi wise to start at 30 and progress down to 28 with a nice big curve.. gotta love carbs

will deffo have a play.. even if its silly things like reed block matching/modding or helping airflow into the engine, the principles will get your head working. its more than bolting parts together tuners and mechanics are WORLDS apart
