i have just bought a aprilia sr125 aircooled 02 reg i have fitted a kundo exhaust and fitted a 94 jet in the carb but it seems slower than it was with the standard exhaust any ideas why this is
 i hope you didnt expect to see any gains with that exhaust...its a standard replacement mate fuck what they described it as, when u bort it. if anything it might rev slightly higger so u should maybe go about half a gram heavier or so on the rollers...have a play about with some...
there horrible pipes with the standard motor you need some stiffer clutch springs and lighter rollers just to get it anywhere near what it was before
ANY IDEA WHERE I CAN GET A DOWNPIPE FOR MY OLD STANDARD EXHAUST AS MY OLD ONE IS ROTTEN AND THEN I WILL SELL THE KUNDO EXHAUST ALSO WHAT MAKE EXHAUST DO YOUS RECOMMEND
kundo pipe isnt as bad as it's made out to be, its about on par with standard. Upjetting to that extent isn't necessary really, maybe 2 sizes above standard (82 i think is standard). the kundo pipe isnt a world beater but its a better looking alternative to the stock one. there's a limited choice really for the SR due to the engine mounts and the fact it's air cooled. rollers may need changing but in all honesty, the last one i did i left alone, jetting wasnt too far out on standard, just upped from 82 to 86. Hope this helps standard downpipes are available at either scooter-center or donotlink, i forget which i've seen them at. Oh and there's no need for caps don't need to shout to be heard on here.
well if you want better poerformance u could try the tecnigas rs or if your planning to 172 it soon than i wud shot the kundo..get the 172 kit and then buy a more suitable exhaust once u dun that..imo polini, malossi or jolly moto (although i havn't tryed it myself i heard its on par wiv the other 2)..
How have you based your information Bossman regarding 172 pipes? Have you seen the Dyno curves on the Gilera runner exhaust tests? The Polini and Malossi are clearly set for high-end revs and produced less power than a std exhaust below high rpms! They are the same exhausts as the Runner 125/180 and the same part numbers (M329612 malossi,P2000216 polini) Clearly not suited to the milder tuned air cooled engines unless you spin them up to over 9000rpm hock: http://www.butchy.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/page2.html http://www.butchy.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/page3.html These tests were done on a std 180 so slightly less aggressive timings than the 172 liquid cooled but close to a 172 air cooled running std ignition curve, god knows how they would perform on a std air cooled 125 As Minor would say if you don`t have experience or evalution don`t offer advice as inevitabley it`s bad advice even though you thought you were just being helpfull .
i havnt based my info on dyno's no. ive had all of these pipes bar the jolly and was just trying to help him make his decision..okkkk im not even gonna bother argue coz i know u no more than me but i was just trying to reccomend another pipe as he obviously bort the kundo thinking it was going to increase performance...which is what i dun on my first sr lol .I know the runners exhaust is good i just figured he wanted the look and sound a "sports pipe" gives which is what i based my recommendations on but yeah..Fair play bruv
Fair do`s Bossman, but these are expensive exhausts to try only to find out you need to spend more to get them to work at their best cratch: I would concentrate on getting the original pipe back in spec (stainless replacement part is available from SIP Scooters (part number SIP007), sell the Kundo and save for a 172 kit.
bossman172 why have you advised exhausts that done fit the polini doesnt even fit on a/c enignes and the malossi will proberbly hit the mount. as minor said a while ago pm59's fit sr's with some fiddleing but personaly ona non ported bike id stay with a stock pipe
