Not being funny mate but if you need pictures to guide you through it you shouldn't really be doing it. Unfortunately it isn't just a case of taking a 125 and putting it in the frame and done. Have a search on engine conversions and have a read up. :good:
why do people feel the need for smart arse comments ? its not for my benefit if i had the scooter i would be able to sort it myself , i'm trying to help a friend who lives abroad and its always helpful to see how other people do things rather than making mistakes yourself
What's smart about that? Conversions are all generally bodge in one way or another. There is also loads of topics on it already.
Reality check, I'm not being a smart arse you're being a touchy fucker. Simple. As tErr0 says they're normally a bodge, not only a pain in the arse but also in some circumstances can be extremely dangerous for not only the rider but others on the road. As for your friend abroad then it's even worse as if he doesn't have the expertise and has to ask then you may well in the end know what to do and how to do it but instructions over the Internet aren't always that clear. As I said before, search around and look for information on how you have to carry it out if you'd like to carry on. I would of advised you to not attempt it, if you're happy to advise your 'friend' to go through with it even knowing the dangers of it being done badly then you crack on with it. Maybe you can fly over there when the engine falls out and tell his crying mother that he's being boxed up because he didn't understand exactly what you said to him over the Internet. At best he's going to butcher a perfectly good scooter.
In the US we didn't get the Piaggio motor until much later, a lot of the early ones will be Minarrelli's or Morini's.
Thats what I wanna do as well.. Get a runner 125 piaggio LC and disc brake engine and fit it. My sr needs a new engine so im thinking about 125 or a new 70 engine. As long as I know that the wireing in sr 50 are same as the 50/125 runner so no big job. Fit it and go.
