while riding to work today i was going round a roundabout as i was lent over the bike started to vibrate a lot more than usual. got it to work and checked it over while i was on my lunch break took the oil cap off at the rear wheel (gear box) and there was oil in it but smelt very burnt ?? any ideas also im going to be changing the belt is it worth paying the extra for a kevlar one ??
Ive had no luck with kevlar belts. I think the standard belts are alot stronger tbh. My polini belt snapped after a week an mallosi one too.
Gearbox oil always smells a bit funny in my experience? The oil is literally a couple of quid its deffo worth changing for peace of mind and to check condition of the old oil. And Kevlar is stronger than steel there is no way in hell a rubber belt can be stronger. I've had one, did what it was supposed to. Didn't break while I ran it.
