belt is dry/cracked... torque drive could be dry and in need of some grease on the pins.. variator fan could be rubbing on the inside of the kickstart.

i doubt it could be the centre stand because it seems like its coming from the variator area. I changed my rollers the other day but i didnt grease it up again, do you think that could be the problem?

a LIGHT coating of thin grease wont hurt the variator.. even if they are self lubricating rollers. its wrth a try to see if your roller type is the problem.

check the waterpump (if it is wc obv) as if it seizes/starts to seize the bearings will ether spin noisy or even worse, seize up and force the drive gear to rotate freely on the pump = no waterpump turning..

can be a bearing on the imput shaft (one the clutch sits on) so check these, altho if its stationary those bearings wont be spinning, in wich case it could be the clutch bearings themselves...

just go through every bit by bit,. if theres still a sound wiht everything spinning freely and clean/quiet then change the oil pump. this is all on the basis that the noise actually is comming from the tranny cover
