Finally its starting to get there after months of planning and searching. Just needs second radiator, exhaust, air filter and wiring.
you need to have the shock mount moved thurther back so the engine will be at a better angle and the shock will work properly then you may as well use a different shock like a runner 125 one aswell
like the rest said the shock looks a lil weired like that..although it looks good lol.dont u need to weld it to the frame
The back end is probably a little too high but I think it looks good... Well done for taking the job on. Good luck with the rest of it! imp:
I'd love to do something like this, but i'm not so sure you'd still get the handling of a speedfight? hopefully you can answer this for me.
the engine does look to angeld buit i recon the wheel is in the same place. just the suspention travel will be sharper due to the steeper travel (might make it all a little softer tho) only bad thing is pipes are a big decision now but good luck
i remember somone selling a speedfight with runne r125 engine they also moved the suspension mount and used a runner shock you might be able to drill a hole for the shock mount futher back on the frame and it might go on well check first
Thanks for the comments I used the stage6 kit from scooter-attack. Im thinking about going with a scorpion pipe. Battlechasers put a runner in a speedfight 50.
fook me steggi...ive tracked the project down again :w00t: I was only wondering the other day how this project was doing nice work fella
pretty cool project and looks like something I will be doing next but a question; what are all the connections for that you get with the kit and anything else that needs changing, apart from the engine/carb, etc over? If I got a runner 125 engine and loom, is that all I would need? Thank you
Slight update The bracket for the engine is going to be altered as the wheel base is 80mm longer than the standard speedy. after its been modified it should be around 40mm longer.
Great project, just stumbled accross it! I like the fact you have different forks. Heard the singlearms are pants over 60MPH. How do these compare? Engine angle is rather strange, Looks like it will be wheelying alot. Shock is very important, as if you take a large bump or pothole at speed it could crack your shock mount and as Ive experience with another concept scoot I had, the rear has some flex over bumps/holes at higher speeds which were felt throughout the scoot. Take your time and dont rush things, give it a good testing before a thrashing and "172ing" as people seem to eager to reccomend a 172 kit without knowing anything about a custom scoots handling and general ride comfort. My 2 pence worth. Project does look like its got potential though. Didnt catch what colour scheme you wanted to go for?
Thanks Not tried the forks yet. Quite a few people have said about the angle of the engine, the adaptor kit is being modified and the rear shock mount is being moved back. Not sure on colour scheme yet.
Iv got a speedy 172, was all done by the mechanic i bought it off. He made a new weld for the shock i can get a pic if you want. But good thing you changed the forks, swingarm is deadly over 70 as i found out. By the way is the vivacity wheel a 10 or a 12 inch?
