    no

    2 reasons:

you are installing a air cooled cylinder onto a liquid setup (need to convert the waterpump system and take out the radiator) and change your carb to a larger one which is by the way: air cooled too

you are putting twice as much strain on the crank, thats if you manage to split the case, take the crank out and change to a 100cc conrod and reassemble so you will end up snapping or bending something

although the simpler way (if you really must) buy a speedshite 100 engine

    cheers

i know that it wont need the radiator n waterpump and obviously a bigger carb will be needed but i was just wonderin if itd work
and hursty said about the carb earlier but i dont see the difference between my carb and an air cooled carb theres only a petrol pipe and an oil pipe going to it well throttle and e choke but i dont remember anything else

    anyway cheers for the advice

well the main reason is the stress your crank would be on say if you spent loads on changing to a 100cc conrod, the 50 isn't physically able to cope with that much strain because your piston gets much more heavier meaning more work to be done

watercooled carbs use the hot water of the barrel to stop the petrol from freezing, obviuosly an air cooled cylinder doesnt have these pipes for the carb to use becuase their no water heat/cool system available

The 100 top end wont fit onto the 50 bottom end!!!

BUT...the 100 engine slots easily into the 50 frame ;)

crankcase is too small for the 100 barrel

do what dave said, stick the 100 motor in the 50 frame

thats what i was thinking, would it not be quicker and be less hassle to just stick a 100 engine in, bearing inn mine all your guna have if u put a 100 top end on is a missmatching angine :confused:arc: and im sure to get some one to take the crank out and change the conrod, would it not be cheaper aswell to stick a 100 lump in?

Fitting the 100 top end on to a 50 just isnt an option...it wont fit...they are 2 totally different engines!!

so the 100 into 50 frame is the only possibility...its quite straight forward
its been done loads of times before ;)

yeah, 70 speedsite is better than 100 in most cases. tbh though i'd flog it and get something with a little more power than a crushed hairdryer. tuning speedfights seems a bit pointless. a friend of mine spent about £600 on his and i still buggered off an my almost stock area51.
