    Hi
I have purchased a 1998 prost to rebuild and thought I may as well put a thread up of the build if anyone's interested.

I have always wanted the 100 since I was 17 and thought I may as well build one through the winter for a giggle.

I'm no expert but do have some idea but feel free to guide me as I'm bound to be missing bits or need help.

I'm also not a purist so it doesn't have to be all original as long as it is nice :)

I'll upload how it arrived and what I've done so far .......

I purchased her from Scotland and the kind previous owner kindly drive the 12 hour round trip to deliver her. She was already in bits so not sure what's missing etc...

I have laid it out in some space in my garage and treated the frame for rust then hammerite....

I just used kurust to treat the frame

I've just fitted some header bearings but not happy with the fitment so will re look at them I think. Unless they look ok to everyone else.

I also coated some bits by the front arm. I may spray the front swing arm black rather than the standard silver

ive used kurust myself on scoots and cars with good results...

i have a bench vice in my shed, like all sheds in this country it gets quite damp in the winter months.

i treated the rusty parts of the vice with kurust last summer, and when i checked the following summer there was no sign of the rust coming through again.

That's good especially as I'm over coating mine with hammerite anti rust paint should keep her protected

Painted a few bits today so need to wait for them to dry.

Took the switches off the handle bars as the symbols had come off. Annoyingly had to drill the screw's out of them. Wondering if there is a better replacement than Philips head screws as clearly they aren't great to get out

Dip the threads in copper grease before you put them back in.
I've done loads of videos of the speedy 100 I rebuilt earlier this year, they're all on my website here:

When I rebuilt my 2 scooter's I used copper grease and replaced most screws and bolts with stainless ones
Bolt World on Ebay is who I used as good prices for stainless bolts and screws.
So no rust and come out easy

    Hi

What sizes did you find the nuts and bolts generally were? M6 or m8 or something else?

    Kind regards

Figured I'd bolt some bits together to work out what I'm missing today. Also run the wiring loom to work out where it all plugs in

The 4 pin looks like the rectifier, can't really see the other one

Got myself a new lock set, barrel key and CDI that plugs in to those 2 cables and fitted them all.

Tipped the engine on Saturday to fit a new stand and water came out which is worrying as it's air-cooled so stripped the lump Sunday to bits and ordered new bearings, seals.
