the clutch on my speedfight wont engage, I have cleaned the carb many a times, checked rollers and tryed 2 different wieghts i have also tryed 2 vairators (the standard one and a polini,both for the bike), I have also tryed diffrent clutch springs and the torque spring, but still no joy,the bike will rev until it hits the limiter at this point the rear wheel spins very slow and looks to be spinning backwards in staggered sections, if u can understand that ? :good: I have taken the vairator casing off and had a friend rev the bike so I can see what's happening on the vairator side of things, the outer face ( what the kick-start pinoin engages with ) is spinning and so is the vairator, with the bike on full revs the belt spins around faster but doesn't move the clutch hub,after I cut the engine out and removed the vairator there was a "friction-ring"on the lower section of the vairator,so its like the belt isn't moving upwards at all to so could this be the problem,how do I go about solving this checked clutch and clutch shoes every thing looks to be in working condition thanks in advance Jordan the belt is a polini kevlar ( no signs of damage or cosmetic wear ) the only thing I can think of is the gears ?
when you rev the bike the variator should be moving together, sqeezing the belt, and pushing it up....this will cause the torque driver (where your back tire is) to open and then the clutch should open up...im not sure if the clutch will open until this happens... but the variator should start to push the belt up regardless.
