Hi all, on my speedfight two side lights i put the switch on to side lights and well they are like so dim and when i rave the bike they go off(the back lights seem ok but think battery needs charging), although when i put my lights on to main beam the work, still dimish but when i rave bike up they just stay the same. i have put a new battery in few months ago and charged it, i took my hole bike apart today to look at all the wiring and the regulator etc and it looks ok, but could it be the regulator needs changing? and my main lights are not very bright, would this be the regulator not charging the battery whiles I am going? well any help will be great and other things ya need to help me ask me cheers!
Re: speedfight 2 100cc side light problems have you got a multi-tester? when you have electrical faults they are invaluable, if I broke my one today, I would replace it, so it was here when needed.
Re: speedfight 2 100cc side light problems sorry but whats a multi tester do or what is it ? i have on the way a battery tester to see what v the battery is at
Re: speedfight 2 100cc side light problems you asked about whether or not the battery was being charged, the regulator can be checked if its working by putting the leads of a multi-tester on the battery, observe the reading, start the bike and take another reading, and also increase the revs and note the highest voltage going to the battery. with the bike running, the voltage should stay in the range of 14-15 volts. the alternator output before it's regulated should be in the range of 18-22 volts. multi-tester........ http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_...3&_nkw=multi-tester&_sacat=See-All-Categories
Re: speedfight 2 100cc side light problems if you do buy one, the ones that have a clamp, come in handy, on the days you haven't got three hands. just add that those ranges were for your bike, the ranges are different on other makes, but the principle is the same.
Re: speedfight 2 100cc side light problems the clamp isn't necessary for occasional use, but the guys using it everyday find the clamp makes life easier.
