Speedfight 1 50cc LC 1998 carb issues

Hey guys new to the forum.

Having some minor troubles with my carb. Leaking way to much fuel from the overflow pipe. My guess is a faulty float. The bike was sat idle in a garage for 10 years so yeah.

I had plans to get a bigger carb anyway. Currently a standard 12mm. Going to push to a 17.5mm TNT tuning carb.

Also grabbing a new air filter for the carb, racing cdi unit and a Leo vince TT exhaust as my current stock exhaust has a restriction pipe (old exhaust).

I have also removed the restrictor from my variator, which was an easy job and probably gained me 8-12mph depending on the weather.

I’m just wondering if there’s any steps I should follow with changing the carb? I’ve watched plenty of videos etc and gone through my Haynes manual and looks pretty straight forward, any tips etc?

Also I’m interested in lighter rollers just for abit of a better acceleration?
