Just curious. I need some loom earth wires replacing and got loads of descent speaker wire not being used. Could i use that as an alternative earth wire replacment ? If not why ?
as long as its the same gauge or slightly bigger there would not be a problem, thinner wires can overheat due to resistance and increase voltage slightly to other wires, too large a wire can cause a slight drop in voltage over distance. if its braided copper use braided copper etc. never go under slightly over is ok. as long as you remember the colour codes lol
Thats true. Thank you cgc. The wire is the same size but a little bigger inner copper. Its only going to be earth replacements (loom to frame, loom to cdi) and was thinking battery to frame but that wire is allot thicker.
