Spark plugs

    pull my plug out today and if look like this what's does it mean?

    looks nice, not overly rich and no where near lean.

    see that chocolate brown colour thats telling you the motors happy with its current air/fuel mix rates ;)

    pop a brand new plug in.....

    run scooter hard for around 2-4 mins , while flat out on the throttle TURN OFF ignition , come to a stop remove the plug and have a look at the colouring again, if alls good you should have that brown chocolate / tea stain. thats 100% telling you even on a fresh plug the engines happy with its current air/fuel mix.

    we would usually and always do a new plug and tank it after a hard run as instructed above, the reason why we turn it off while hard on the throttle is to take away any posibility of false plug reading as the engine cools and gets the plug wetter. we want to see the current state of burn while the engine is running hence we turn off ignition so we dont get an idle down flow of fuel etc etc.
