Right ive brought a 8inch sub woofer from car shop and made a board for it under my seat, so now.. how do i connect the sub so it plays music off my ipod ect... i also have a amp.. but how do i connect it to battery and how do i get it to play..
there should be 3 wires coming from the amp for the power, an "earth" (black) "12v" (red) and "remote"(orange). put a wire from the earth plug on th amp to ur negative on your battery and 1 from 12v plug to your positve. the remote plug on your amp is for a switch so you can turn the amp on and off, so i suggest making sure you put a switch on or ur amp will be on constantly. so add a wire from the remote plug on ur amp to a switch and then conect that to the positve on your battery aswell as the 12v wire. that should get the power to the amp. then you need to wire the sub up to the amp, which is abit more complicated. if the sub just has a + and - connection just simply wire them up to the + and - speaker plugs on your amp. But if the sub has 2 + and - connections like mine does (this enables you to play the sub off 1ohms instead of 4) you need to bridge the sub for it to work and this is how you do it. on the sub there sre 2 + and - plugs like i said well put a single wire from a - plug on the sub to a + plug but the opposite + plug if you get me, its hard to explain and if you dont get me just add me on msn (full_of_life@hotmail.co.uk im online now!) so thats your bridge completed on your sub, then all you do is wire it up like you normally would using the remaining + plug and - plug. But if it only has 1 + and - plug like i said then just ignore that last bit lol. and all you need to wire your ipod up is a lead which has 2 phono plus on (the black and red) on one end and the connection that fits into your headphone outlet on ur ipod, you can buy them from any computer shop or D.I.Y store. Then it should be done! As i say any questions or you have trouble understandin how i put it jst add me on msn. :nerd:
