Solenoid sticking again

    Same problem as I had late last year with the solenoid sticking even tho iv replaced it. Could it be the battery that's causing it to stick?

    Replaced with an official kymco part.

    It can't keep being the solenoid that's the problem its too basis of a component for 3 of them to be defective it has to be something else. Starter motor or battery is my next try, I'll be replacing the battery next to see of that's the issue, the voltage seems fine but this isn't indication the battery is okay as it might be suffering when large power is drawn when the bike starts and was wondering if that could cause the solenoid to stick.

    yes battery voltage droop can cause a sticky solenoid, but also the starter could be at fault here.

    remove starter and connect direct to a 12v battery it should run up ( just tap it onto battery for like 3-4s so you dont overwork it) if that works , its then testing battery, take bike out for a good run ( before leaving NOTE the batterys voltage should be around 13v fully charged, or if its a bit low around 12-13v ) when your return check battery again ( do not use lights so do these runs in daytime) the voltage should be around 13 - 14.4v if its been fully topped up. you need a good long run with the motor atleast hitting around 4000/5000 rpm before the charge current is enough to feed battery, its usually around 1-1.5amp charge capacity at this rpm range so a 7amp battery thats dead as a dodo is going to take atleast 5-7hrs to charge via the bike.
    you may wish to pop the battery onto a charger instead of burning shed loads of fuel

    dont worry if its like 13.4v -14.4v our 12v batterys soon dive down to around 12.4v even after one click of the starter motor or the lights getting put on,
