So i'm buying a scooter again. Sold my car because I lost my job but now I have a new job and I need some transport. I'm not buying a car again as i've bought a years work visa for australia and i'll be leaving in 6 months time, so I need to save up and a car is just too much expense!

Quite excited to own a scoot again. No idea what I want, just a 50cc will do. I'm phoning a guy tomorrow about a gilera ice but If anyone knows of anyone selling anything in decent shape for £400 or under then please let me know!

Glad to see this forum is still going! :good:

welcome back.. i think typh 50s kick ass. or you could consider a zip (sleeper)

I thought about a zip actually, christ knows they are easier to come by than typh's around here but as luck would have it i've been offered a typh in good shape for chump change so i'm going to get that on sunday. Happy days!

Already looking at new wheels as I don't like the standard typh ones. Any recommendations? Never owned a piaggio before so I don't know the first thing about them.

runner one can fit as said if you can find a drum rear. p.s. i have one spare ;)
also nrg ones can fit but you need the rare 3bolt front which i also have one that you can buy :)

Well I got the scoot, paid £180 for it.

It could do with a new rear brake cable, it needs an indicator relay too and there's something wrong with the speedo as it only works at random but I should be able to sort it out unless I take it off and put different bars on.

Feels a little under-powered compared to my last scoot but then it's just standard so I suppose it would. Might fiddle with the engine a bit or i might not but A little more power wouldnt go amiss, especially when it comes to large hills of which there are plenty around here in cumbria. But yeah, happy with it!

I may be in touch next payday andy

    *edit*

Just remembered I have a 21mm carb somewhere....would it be a bad idea to bodge it on before I do anything else? Its been years since I fiddled with scoots, cant remember a damn thing lol
