Snapping carbon reeds

Is this a common problem that they wear out and snap or is something not quite right?

 

your'e reed stoppers are too wide, stresses the reeds too much.

 

It was a standard reed block

 

and....... there too wide lol or they mite be getting overtightened when fitting so causing a crack.
either way i do prefer the carbon reeds, them standard ones leave dirty digs in your piston when they split and crack
