yep hear what your saying, but i havent got the knowledge or porting skill to
start making a drastic improvement on a barrel....

Plus youve got to be careful about flaking the nicasil coating on alu barrels
    (so im led to beleive)

much more sensible for someone like me to just bolt on a barrel that makes the power in the 1st place :D

no point an amateur like me trying to make a 12hp kit produce 15hp when
    theres a 15hp kit i can buy...

    fair point, fair point,

but would it not be easier and cheaper to have say minor lay a different/more powerfull map onto the barrell, and get shiny to work his magic on the head.
could still run the twin ringer and get over 15bhp surely.

I wouldnt have a problem in doing something like that, but once ive bought the kit, paid minor for the porting and then paid gaz is it still going to be cheaper ??

And thats assuming minor wants to port it, I thought he said a while back porting isnt worth his while these days ??

im an independant guy, i dont like pestering people, might be best to do just do my own thing :D

    spose so, lol

and yes i do believe minor is doing work atm.
i also found out today that shiny also does engine and porting work when i went and visited him today! :D lol

may be easier and cheaper for you dave, just seemed a shame to me to for you to just ditch the rep when youve already been there and shelled out the pennies! lol

    yes it is a shame,

but last time i replaced the piston on the rep it cost £63 with the top end gasket set....

And this time the head needs repairing too (if its possible to repair it)

    I think i will start a fresh,
