Hi, im new to scootering and just picked up my first bike. Got a NRG extreme air cooled with 70cc kit, doppler pipe and a malossi carb and reeds.

I got it off a guy who bought it as parts and completely rebuilt it. SO that means everything is pretty much new but needs running in.

Its pretty slow atm but have managed to get up to 50mph on downhill.

Only problem im having is that its taking ages to get up to speed, could this be because its not run-in yet or would that not be related?

    cheers, Lukash.

if the cylinder still needs running in you dont want to be going 50 on it, you should be keeping revs low and going around 30 for the first 100-500 miles

Thats fair enough, it was pretty steep hill so it was gravity doing most of the work.

Main thing i wanna know is if acceleration will pick up once the bike is run-in?

It may free up slightly, but nothing drastic.
Running a bike in allows all the engine components to gradually come together to make evrything smooth

The parts have probably been bolted on without setting up,

jetting, idle mixture screw, rollers and clutch springs need changing/adjusting ;)

Any online guides that might help me out? or any advice on what i should do?

I would just un-do some screws and take a look but i dont wanna fuck my bike up

Update: I spoke to the previous owner today and he said that its not been up-jetted and has a stock air-filter. He said he thinks it should be fine as it is.

Do you guys recommend up-jetting or changing the air-filter considering it has a 19mm carb?

    thanks, Lukash

you are also gonna need primary gear up and secondary if you want it. or else you wont see much past 60

he dont have one, and dont no what is going so ignore him lol

it will definately need jetting, not necessarily UPjetting but will need to be setup.

with the way the previous owner refers to the jetting as not bein a problem then i would suggest that it be setup. this is why your bike is underperforming rollers, jetting and clutch springs may need to be changed
