slack throttle cable?

    when you turn your throttle is their a bit of "slack" before it begins to rev the engine? or is this becuase my throttle cable is loose?

    depends how much.

    i have a small bit so i can rest on it when im sat on it without it revving without me knowing ive leant on it etc, just a bit of play etc, depends how much you want, set it to suit you

    legal limit is 6mm of throttle play i believe/

    you should have it set so theres a bit of slack so the cable isnt constantly under tention but no more than 6mm, doubt any self respecting mot tester will get his tape measure and mark the travel on a throttle grip tho LOL

    Always adjusted mines with a little bit of play (Enough so it doesnt rev when the bars are turned)

    Same with clutch and (drum) brakes, Just a little bit of play so when the bars are turned its not going to start disengaging the clutch/braking.
