seeing as im building my dragster up for summer, i plan on building a sidecar for it, something thats small but big enuff to carry some usefull items like some tools or camping gear ect.

has anybody ever seen one of these close up? ive got my ideas on how i want it to look but im stuck at mounting it :confused:cratch: would i need a shocker between the frame of the bike and the sidecar, kind of like how a cars swing arm/shocker would work.

    any ideas would be great

Just out of interest do you have a licence or are you just planning on using it to put stuff in?

As far as I can tell they are all very simple. It's just a frame with a solid wheel mounted to it. No suspension or anything.

No just a CBT. it would be for carrying stuff not a passenger so should think it would be ok? And it wont be on all the time, just when needed.

all i want is a nice simple steel tubes frame to suit the drag, use a drag front wheel on it and make a fibreglass mould from scooter pans.

would it have to go in for MOT test or anything? i think it would definetly need lights on it? just incase someone overtook me and hit it :cray:

as a general rule your chair (sidecar) should be on the left side, it will however need marker lights.

i'm not sure it needs to go for a seperate MOT, i would think about it seriously though, riding with a chair is a LOT different to riding a bike. especially when you go a bit hot into a corner.

    :rotfl: that pic is ace!!

yeah ive ridin with a sidecar style befor, honda meldy conversion, when you turn into the side with the car on it tilts up, thats why i was thinking of trying to fit a shocker on it between the frame and car. need to read more on it, looks possible though

Not sure you can have one with only a cbt mate, it ain't technically a trailer , but it is a major change to the chassis of the vehicle, (even if it is temporary) , and as such would be subject to mot I recon.
And if it isnt used to carry passengers I imagine it would be quite small? So what bout a pizza delivery size box?
Try and find a few pics of the classic style vespa/lamby boys and how they pack theirs without side cars!

I think its more easier to make a scooter / bike trailer for camping/holidays, load the scoot, pack your gear and tow it all with the car! You get to your destination, unload strike camp, and go for a ride while the mrs gets the fry up on!!! ;)
