this to remove the variator . if yes theres two ways variator locking tool , it locks the variator and stops it from spinning when you try to undo the crank nut. Impact socket gun , no need to lock variator the brute force of the impact gun will unlock and release the crank nut, you can also impact gun the nut back on when needed .
Cheers .don't have impact gun will try to lock and use large bar on socket. take it loosens anti clock wise.
anti clockwise i think , you can get locking tools in online stores, but if your cracking the nut off by wrench you need to put it back on with a torque wrench and torque it to required spec on manual/service guide
