Well after 2-3 days of trying to get it moving over 10mph I put a new BR8ES plug in it and it was still running rough. I then put the Iridium BR8EIX in it and it cleared its self and ran fine with the 86 jet in it for about an hour or so. Then it went back to being a dog and coughing and spluttering... So I thought I would go to my mates house which was about a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute ride. And just before I got to his house it sounded like it was backfiring or misfiring and then it just died :wtf: I thought it would have been the rings had gone. Tried starting it at his house and it wouldn't start. So I thought my bikes well and truely fucked I'll just have to get a new bore and get the carb set up properly. I then kicked it over about 2 hours later and it started first time.... BUT..... it started revving really really high. So it looks like I have fucked my kit. But would I of damaged any other parts of the engine?
Well it could be. Because I was looking at it the other day and it looked like I was leaking water from some where aorund the barrell.
Well today I took the whole engine out and went and got one off my friend. It has a Airsal bore kit, Which he claims to be a 80cc or a 75cc. He can't make his mind up. But he only wanted £80 for it and it comes with a new crank and a SR 13" back wheel and a massive box of goodies. The engine bolted straight in, And that when we started getting problems. The flywheel/stator. He said to me that the stator had gone on it from jet washing it. So we tried to get the flywheel off and no matter how hard we tried we just couldn't. My old man said to undo the nut and leave it on just at the end of the thread and then get 2 levers behind it and bash the nut in the middle with a hammer/mallet. And no matter how hard we would hit the nut or put pressure on the levers it would not budge, yet I have seen my dad do it in like 10 seconds... No joke. So I'm going to go to Halfords tomorrow and see if I can get a flywheel puller as my dad will be at work. I would of taken photos of it all but had no battery on my phone. So will take some tomorrow.
Naa I aint talking about the variator... I'm talking about the flywheel. A mate of mine has a impact gun so can use that to get the variator off. Yeah I should of really. But my engine is like 7 or 8 years old. And this one is out of a 04 or 05 I think
