I stumbled on this great website, google 'sharp helmets' and you can search for loads of helmets and it works on the Euro Ncap style star rating with a few illustrations of where the helmet is week or strong in terms of protection. I was going to get a KBC but after looking at the one I was going to get I am certainly not going to purchase it. Potential life saving already. I bet most people on here have know about this for ages but if don't its worth checking out.
My Box helmet which I have as a spare got 4 stars and it was about £30 delivered. Think some £300 quid AVG's only got 4 stars. Doesn't really make sense to me how they could be the same but I suppose you have to take it at face value. Suppose you pay a lot for the name and light weight etc.
If that is the case then at least add something positive by telling us the ratings from whom we should be taking note of. That comment was like taking a shit and not flushing the bog lol.
I can't tell you who or what to listen to , the way i go about it is , you get what you pay for . Had this discussion on here before , fire writ some political essay about it.
There is always going to be an element of style over substance and inflated price due to name and rider association etc. I am not saying in any way that the more expensive helmets are purely more expensive due to the stated reasons I believe that they will be better researched, better materials etc, I just believe that you will be able to get equally as good protection for less £ if you buy with your head not heart. He write it as part of a thesis or just for kicks?
