Right I am having a hard/ frustrating time setting up my bike its an 2005 aerox yq50 full de restricted.
*My standard roller weight is 5.5g
*I have recently purchased a viper exhaust ( I no you lot probly dont rate them but a brand new exhaust for £45 i thought wasnt bad)
*I have also purchased a roller mixing set and get the following X3 2g,3g,4g,5g,6g,7g
So I tried 5g with the new pipe still on std clutch springs pull of was slow but when past 10mph it wasnt too bad few flat spots here and there, so I knew that the lighter rollers would wear faster so I ordered a pack of 5g rollers and also some 2000rmp clutch springs spent the whole of today taking it apart and fitting the new stuff to find that the pull off was fantastic all the way upto about 20mph and a slow crawl to 30 with that beeing my top speed :wtf:

so a quick sumary my bike goes through the gears to fast and ends up stuck in top gear at 30mph

So I whipped of the variator and tried 4.5g using the mixxing set to still find that its even worse and even slower.

I hope you understand what Im trying to say and that you dont slate me as Im new to all this scooter buisness and any help would be greatfull

    cheers chris

hello mate, you just need to keep trying all of the rollers because all aerox'es are bastards to get perfect. also if your exhaust is brand new does it still have the restrctors in? if your bike is still slow if you have tried all of your rollers, look inot a new variator, that will take your speed up drastically!

Hi mate thanks for your fast reply, yer I took the cone restriction out of the new exhaust, right yer I might have a look for new rollers as I dont think I want to be going any lighter than 4.5g considering the only mods I have done is the exhaust

Is there a variator that you would recomend?

    thanks chris

well tbh mate i had a hebo competition plus kit in mine which was a clutch , belt rollers and variator and i had 3.7 gram in mine and it was fine, i went even lighter after that, it depends what you want lighter will give more accelerationbut less top speed and other way around with heavy ones, but if your looking into variators go with malissi, or polini, with one of them in you will love it!

sorry also forgot to say that with the mixxing set of 5.0g with the viper pull of was crap but once past 5mph it was ok upto 55mph but then days went on and the flat spots in speed were getting worse and worse so I brought the equivilent set of 5g but all the same weight rollers but it just wasnt the same as the mixxing set as straight away they were huge flat spots in speed

    *EDIT*
steve you wouldnt happen to have a link to the hebo kit that you got ?

    ok cheers guys

right I no the exhaust arent very good, but im going to be getting a tecnigas one soon and I think there a bit better, but surely the exhaust has nothing to do with the fact my bike is changing gears to soon and ending up in top gear hitting 30mph?

I had this problem when I fitted my Leovinci TT (btw if you're considering a Tecnigas just get one of these if you can ;) ) basically you need stiffer clutch springs, thats all i needed to do to make mine work, a new vario will make your bike faster still but you'll only get the same problems at 5-10mph, and in my experience it's fuckin lethal !!! Try the springs first then a new variator and you'll be fine :D

Not had any expeience of the TNT but i'd suggest a malossi multivar or even better a polini sport vario as they are probably the best for quality reliable parts, and the polini is a bit larger than a stock one giving a higher ratio and top speed :pimp:

from what i gather, ythe heavier the rollers, the higher the top speed, and the slower the acceleration gets, maybe try ussing s and 6s or even 6s and 7s

Yes but no... heavier rollers will help up to a point but lighter ones cn be too light and therefore the gearing can't physically get any higher, reducing top end. Too heavy mind and it'll ruin the acceleration and the top end won't go any further, as it's going through the gears faster but the highest gear remains the same.

I am, the stage6 kit I mention is the 70kit with a 49cm3 stamped barrel

also would it be wise to get a gear up kit when ordering and also not sounding stupid but would I need a primary and secondary gear up kit as I dont realy no what they are ?

erm dec-rossi ent gna be too happy with that loool

swap the hebo shizzle for polini stuff (much better trust me)
can get either primary or secondary its upto you loool if u want the grunt then keep standard gearing if u want more top end the get one or both

but tbh fuk the variator and get a 21mm carb for now - nothing like a 21mm, 70cc kit and a pipe so so simple loool
