As I am new to owning a scooter I am still learning about maintence checks etc basically got a Honda lead 2007 bought with less then a 1000 on the clock but use it to go to work do about 50 miles round trip so will be clocking up the miles.

It's done just over 1500 now when should I start to think about servicing it like changing spark plugs, air filter, oil etc any other tips would be great fully received

Get the service manual specific to your Lead, there are some specialist procedures you need to follow to set the bike up in a certain way, esp.due to the i would say over complicated air filtration system/namely Pair valve.
Manual i have is the shop manual SCV100 LEAD Febuary 2003 printed in Italy.it's the actual Honda shop manual, may have to look about for it though - would'nt put up with a generslised 100 cc scooter manual as would NOT mention specifically the Leads operating systems properly.

Had to look about for it,think there's a 3-4 difference between our 2,but this should do you.

as a rule, i do oil and valve clearances every 1000km on my little bikes, and just check all the other stuff sort of as i go.
i think i wrote a service guide somewhere on the forum, its not model specific, just general. local dealership will be able to give you info about valve clearances etc etc..
oh wait, is it the 2t model? if it is thats dead easy to service!

yeah, so change the oil at about 2000 miles ish like accy says, plugs are kinda fit and forget these days, they last a long long time.
as a rule on a service you CHANGE:
    engine oil
air filter (you can just clean it)
    transmission oil
    spark plug
coolant (when you do the plug)
and the things you INSPECT are:
    drive belt and rollers
    valve clearances
    tyres (wear and pressure)
    brakes
    bulbs
    battery fluid level
    forks for leaks
    the things you LUBRICATE are:
    brake levers
    handlebar switches
    key switch and seat lock
    side and centre stand
brake arm if its drum brakes

    Stevep and SpeedyScott1 like this.

wd40 is great for the locks and switches, and chain lube/spray grease for the stands and brake parts/cables

Recommended (Final Reduction/gear oil) :-SAE 90,that's the miniscule amount of oil you don't have to change often, that's figures from the 102cc model Lead.

It is best to be specific,if you can - as most of these 'general' manuals are'nt detailed for particular models.
Post up the full designation on your bike & i'll have a lookabout.
